Ethos

St Johns Wood Synagogue Kindergarten is a warm, safe place for 2-5 year olds to learn and grow within a Jewish environment. We nurture children’s natural curiosity and feed their imaginations by providing activities and resources across all areas of learning. Children will develop close relationships with our experienced staff, thereby building self-esteem, self-confidence and skills in communication. By encouraging an open parent-staff dialogue we create a supportive and friendly environment for all. Welcome to our kindergarten, we hope you will be very happy here!

Curriculum

We will be following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. This describes how we should best support the development, learning and care of young children.

Through a variety of stimulating activities, we will provide opportunities for learning and development according to the six EYFS areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy; Communication, Language and Literacy; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Physical Development and Emotional Development.

We will place our learning within a Jewish framework. The Festivals, Shabbat and Jewish values will be introduced throughout the year. We aim to give a sweet and pleasant introduction to our heritage.
